One of the villagers in Jatun Molino harvests Ungarahua palm nuts with a machete. He placed a pole against the tree like one would place a ladder, then climbed the smaller pole to get to the palm fruit. The fruit is boiled, shelled, then the oil-rich layer over the nut is scraped off and eaten.
