Several brushes used
for decorating Quichua pottery. The brushes are made from human hair (from
the potters themselves) as needed. The number of hairs and length are
determined by the type of line desired. More hairs make a broader line,
and longer hairs make a longer line. These brushes have been made using
toothpicks and dental floss, but traditionally are made using a wood splint
and tied with palm fiber.
