As the children and some of the potters continue to bring out more dry pots, other potters start to apply a red earthenware slip to the rims and tops of the pots. The slip is applied using a piece of cloth dipped in the slip and quickly wiped over the dry clay surface.
The pots dry for only a few minutes before being stacked for firing.
