A selection of the clay mallets used for forming. The two mallets at the upper left are used as a pair in forming. The one on the far left is slightly concave on its face and is used on the outside. The others are used inside the pot and are convex on the pounding face. The small mallet at the top is used for smaller pots, and has a matching sized mallet for the outsides.
